California Winegrowers Launch Sustainable Wine Certification Program

A new certification program was launched in San Francisco today to showcase the leading sustainability performance of the California wine industry. The certification program was initiated by the California Sustainable Winegrowing Alliance, a joint initiative shared by both vintners and growers.

Five Winds International worked with the California Sustainable Winegrowing Alliance to support the development of the third-party certification program. According to Five Winds' Director, John Heckman, the program "encourages continual improvement for the entire California wine industry" and is "a hallmark of what industry associations should be doing."
