The Centre for Excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility was officially launched at a press conference in Ottawa today. The Centre is part of Building the Canadian Advantage, the Canadian government's action plan on corporate social responsibility (CSR). It will initially act as a web-based resource and provide access to relevant CSR-related information, tools and networks worldwide.
"Five Winds International has developed several tools and resources specifically for the mining and metals industry," says Five Winds' director Kevin Brady. "We would be happy to share our resources and expertise with the Centre."
The Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum (CIM) is spearheading the development of the Centre, with the support of the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade.
