Prepared for the International Council on Metals and the Environment, this Five Winds-authored book examines the concept of eco-efficiency from a materials perspective. The book recognizes that different materials have different life cycle profiles which affect the environment in different ways. This understanding is incorporated into an evaluation framework, that provides criteria for examining the scope of eco-efficiency models, seven of which are described and evaluated by the authors.
