Jim Fava - Founder and Senior Director

Dr James Fava has over 30 years experience working with companies and organizations to develop and apply the concepts and tools of sustainability to their operations, processes and products. He regularly interacts with senior management to help them understand sustainability and how they can use that knowledge to create long-term business value. He is co-founder of Five Winds International, founder of the SETAC LCA Advisory Group and headed the U.S. delegation in the development of ISO LCA standards. He is currently chair of the UNEP/SETAC Life Cycle Initiative and is serving on the World Resources Institute (WRI) / World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) Steering Committee for the Scope 3 and Product GHG Protocol efforts. For over 10 years, he has chaired Five Winds' Product Sustainability Roundtable (PSRT - http://www.www.fivewinds.com) whose mission is to improve the performance of member companies by providing support and benchmarking and best practice advice to their product-oriented programs. He received a PhD in Environmental Toxicology from the University of Maryland, College Park, USA. He is regularly invited to speak at engagements throughout the world
