ECO-EFFICIENCY AND MATERIALS
Steven B Young, Kevin Brady, James Fava, Konrad Saur
This book examines the concept of eco-efficiency from a materials perspective. After reviewing some general issues, the authors show how a better understanding of the physical and chemical properties of different materials can lead to environmental improvements.
The book recognizes that different materials have different life cycle profiles and affect the environment in different ways. This understanding is incorporated into an evaluation framework, providing criteria for examining the scope of eco-efficiency models - seven of which are described and evaluated by the authors.
